WITHDRAWAL, CANCELATION, & REFUND POLICY

If a student decides not to participate in the program at any time, they must send an email to notify the faculty director AND the Office of Global Education of their withdrawal.

If a student withdraws from an Eckerd College study abroad program or is required by the College to withdraw, the following payments will be assessed:
  • If withdrawal occurs between the time of deposit and the beginning of the Eckerd College study abroad program, the amount of deposit will be retained by the College, as well as any funds already committed on behalf of the student.
  • Committed funds are 1) monies that the program has already paid to a service provider, and/or 2) monies that the program has agreed to pay to a service provider on terms that cannot be modified or recovered.
  • Students are notified of withdrawal dates when they initially apply to study abroad. 
Winter Term
  • If you withdraw after committing to a program, you will be responsible to pay the $500 program deposit, even if all other costs are recoverable;
  • If you withdraw between October 1, 2023 and October 15, 2023 you will be responsible for the program deposit and all non-recoverable costs.
  • If you withdraw between October 16, 2023 and November 15, 2023you will be responsible for the program deposit and 25% of the program fee.
  • If you withdraw between November 16, 2023 and November 30, 2023 you will be responsible for the program deposit and 50% of the program fee.
  • If you withdraw on or after December 1, 2023 you will be responsible for the program deposit and 100% of the program fee.

Spring into Summer and Summer Program
  • If you withdraw after committing to a program, you will be responsible to pay the $500 program deposit, even if all other costs are recoverable;
  • If you withdraw between January 1, 2024 and January 15, 2024 you will be responsible for the program deposit and all non-recoverable costs.
  • If you withdraw between January 15, 2023 and February 1, 2023 you will be responsible for the program deposit and 25% of the program fee.
  • If you withdraw between February 15, 2023 and March 1, 2023 you will be responsible for the program deposit and 50% of the program fee.
  • If you withdraw on or after March 1, 2023 you will be responsible for the program deposit and 100% of the program fee.
